Random Thoughts XXXVI: I love fixing things!

I’ve been having problems with my pipes for a longtime. The bathroom pipes inside the walls are really old and I just realized that my pipes in the kitchen sink are really old too! Take a look at this pipe for my kitchen sink!

For months, I’ve had this leak and wasn’t sure where it came from. So I did workarounds (towels on my kitchen tiles to catch the puddles) until they did nothing but make things worse. I even ignored the issues for a while. There would also be moments where I would have someone come to take a look but their “fixes” wouldn’t be enough…they would have to come back weeks later, only to determine that the problem was something else, somewhere else.

Sound familiar? Don’t we do the exact same thing with our “internal pipes” and overall health?

Random Thoughts XXXV: THE 5 PRINCIPLES

18 12 2011

THE 5 PRINCIPLES.

RGB Fit Club is the brainchild of rapper SticMan from the group Dead Prez. These 5 Principles are very important for all facets of life. I really need to work on Consistency.

Which principle do you need to work on? Talk to me…maybe we can work on these principles together.

Random Thoughts XXXIV: 2010 and beyond

Wait and Hope

I haven’t spoken to you guys in a long time. Sure, I’ve made excuses (good ones at that!) and I’ve bide my time with the blessings and struggles of life. I’ve even spoken AT you a couple of times…sending a random tweet here and there or a generic post about something else.

I always say, “well no more,” and vow to post again or even do a song and pony type dance for a bit. But then my proverbial “blogging feet” hurt and I end up sitting at the side, in the dark, so you can’t see me. :(

I’m always making some kind of movement for you to notice but what am I really doing? Who am I really talking to?

WHO ARE YOU?

The reader….you who spend time to follow me and check in to see where I am (or am not). What do you really need from me?

In the coming year, I intend to find out.

Before, I was mostly talking to myself. I had an agenda. I had a plan. I wanted to execute it and if people liked it, that was cool with me. I wanted to accomplish something for myself. I did that. Now it’s time to accomplish something for YOU. But I need to have a better idea of who YOU are…or even who I want to talk to!

I’m always busy but this time around, things are changing in a way that I can’t stop. I can restrain myself or procrastinate worse than I have already done. I have a voice and I need to speak my truth but I want to know who wants to hear it so that I am clear in my communication.

I am repeating myself for a reason. If I’m going to talk to myself, I might as well say what I need to so that I can get things right!

I still won’t give up on this blog.
I won’t give up on myself.
I won’t give up on you.
I won’t give up.

(and now that I’m one step closer towards reaching this goal, I’m even more excited)

See you soon! (l)

Random Thoughts XXXII: This concept I can no longer accept…

18 07 2010

Hello everyone!

I know it’s been a while since you’ve heard from me. There is a lot of explanation to do on my part and trust me, everything will be revealed in time but right now, I wanted to share this with you because it’s been a topic of conversation for me and my peers for the past 3 weeks.

What do all of these pictures have in common, besides being a representation or manifestation of the Mother Goddess? Here’s a clue: look at their mid-section…

…for a long time, I have plagued myself with this “I want a six-pack!” mentality. Years have been spent, doing my best to attain what seems impossible. For me, six-pack abs was the culmination of me shedding my weak feminine and taking on this Amazon, strong female form.

A few years ago, I got that six pack of abs. Whooo hoo! However, that joyous occasion quickly faded from “Whooo hoo!” to…”now what?!” What did this six pack do for me health wise? Nothing…for the six pack is only a “visual aid” when it comes to the abdominal muscles. Let’s take a look shall we?
