Are The Biggest Loser’s Weight Loss Methods Safe? – That’s Fit.

Previously, I wrote a post about The Biggest Loser this season. Contestants like Shay and Abby made me excited and highly inspired, just like many other viewers of this show. Today, I read this article for the first time. It really opened my eyes to what goes on AFTER the show is over and what these contestants go through to achieve these lofty goals. Random Thoughts XXX: IYI and Dharma Chameleon

14 11 2009

The other day, I met a lovely young woman who came to Integral Yoga Institute for the first time (yes, I work there now as a receptionist…didn’t I tell you?). Her name is Marla and she mentioned that she came here for her blog, called Dharma Chameleon.

We had a short conversation before her class about blogs (of course I told her that I have these two blogs) and then she wisked herself off to class.

Today, I remembered her blog and lo and behold, here is her post on Integral Yoga Institute: http://dharmachameleon.com/2009/11/11/the-magical-mystery-tour-is-coming-to-take-me-away/#comment-15

I’m just really happy that I had a small part in making her experience a good one. But please remember that any feedback is good feedback…so good or bad review, it’s always an opportunity to grow and thrive.

So until next time…stay strong, stay healthy, and fight dis-ease!

Advaita – Tongue cleaners – Benefits.

This site explains tongue cleaning very well. I knew that the tongue can represent certain organs (just like the feet in reflexology) but didn’t remember clearly which organ would be represented and where.

I hope this helps you find a tongue cleaner that is good for you! :D I’m thinking I’m also going to put this on my Healthy Junk blog too.

Talk to you soon!

Random Thoughts XXVIII: Next Sunday

18 10 2009

Hello everyone! :D

I really have the urge to write about some health thing. I mean, this is a health blog…right? ^^

Not entirely.

This is a wellness blog. And while I do talk about things that are physically, mentally and spiritually, rarely do I give you (or myself) time to really soak in and enjoy the wellness.

It has been said that the Lord rested on the seventh day. Whichever day, your “seventh day” lies, we should be resting as well. However, that is not the case in this day and age – at least for most of us.

So instead, let us honor the day of rest as more of a day of absorption.

Take a moment to reflect on your week. How did it make you feel? Who or What factors contributed to your growth and which factors did not? How can I make next week more positive than this week?

Absorb these feelings, thoughts, and answers and then let them go. Go to sleep tonight and start your day, your week, your life anew…why wait? do it now!

What do you really have to lose? ;)

Until next time, stay strong…stay healthy, and fight dis-ease! (l)

Random Thoughts XXVII: Sundays

have a little faith in me

I am teaching Yoga today. Since my class is in the evening, I take this time to do some Yoga – asana, pranayama, meditation – and maybe do some light reading and reviewing. I spend a lot of time keeping my intention in mind – intention for my life, for my students, for my day.

Today, however, was different. I didn’t get up and listen to Joel Osteen on TV. He was on TV talking but I didn’t pay much attention. FOX News Sunday came on. I payed attention to the show and liked it but I wasn’t present and in the moment. My mind was not on thinking or anything mental.

My mind was on doing.

I prepared my breakfast. I finished updating my blogroll for this site and I’m going to update www.dorightforyourself.org – something I should have done a long time ago. I cleaned my house a bit. I’m blogging. Read the rest of this entry »
